Lot Essay

Hunt stayed with Mr and Mrs Robert Stirling Newall and their family at Bamburgh Castle in 1871 when the Newalls had taken a lease of the Castle from Lord Crewe.
A watercolour belonging to Norman C. Cookson, entitled Bamborough, Sunny, was exhibited at the Burlington Fine Arts Club, 1897, no. 95.
