Lot Essay

Built by Sinan between 1550 and 1557, the Suleymaniye Mosque dominates the skyline on the Golden Horn's west bank. With its cascading domes and four slender minarets the Mosque emphasizes the beauty of the golden age of Ottoman Imperial architecture.
