Of baluster form with entwined branch handle, the conforming cover with carnation finial, painted with birds on branches in a landscape within circular cartouches reserved on the bleu nouveau ground within a ciselé gilt border, the cover rim, neck and foot gilt with a wavy laurel vine--5½in. (14cm.) high
