The above shirt was worn by Donald McLeod in the match against England played on 7th April 1906 at Hampden Park, Glasgow. Scotland defeated England 2-1. The cap also relates to the same match.
Born in Laurieston nr. Falkirk on 28th May 1882, Donald McLeod started his playing career with Stenhousemuir on 6th August 1901 before joining Celtic the following year and was part of Celtic's extremely successful team of the early 1900s. He made a total of 155 appearances for Celtic, before moving to Middlesbrough on 10th October 1908. McLeod served with the 466 Battery of 65 Brigade, Royal Field Artillery during the First World War and from wounds sustained on the Flanders battlefield, he died on 6th October 1917 (2)
