Private John Tabor was killed in action at St. Eloi on 28.2.1915, in an engagement that marked the first occasion a Canadian Regiment had carried out a Reconnaissance-in-Force and also the first of the 'Trench Raids' that became the hallmark of the Canadian Corps over the next three years.
