A BLUE GLAZED COMPOSITION AMULET OF A LIONESS-HEADED GODDESS
THIRD INTERMEDIATE PERIOD, 1070-712 B.C.
Seated on an openwork throne decorated with twin 'black' spotted figures of cobra-bodied Nehebkau on either side, an ankh (life)-sign incised at rear, holding a sceptre and restored sistrum, small chips, 2.5/8 in. (6.7 cm.) high; a turquoise glazed composition amulet of Anubis, the striding jackal-headed god with hands by his sides, wearing a short kilt, mounted, 1.7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) high; a blue glazed composition amulet of a lioness-headed striding goddess, carrying a sceptre in front, 2 in. (5 cm.) high; and a green glazed composition shabti holding two hoes in crossed arms, with seed-bag over left shoulder, with T-shaped inscription, 5 in. (12.7 cm.) high, all Late Period (712-332 B.C.) (4)
