Lot Essay

The present group is another bronze master model. The heavily worked waxy surface, the mechanical configuration (pins, sockets and sections), and the evidence of red wax indicates that it is an artisan's proof, comparable to the Walter's Art Gallery's Bear Overthrown by Three Dogs.
