A COPTIC TEXTILE TUNIC WITH HOOD
5TH-6TH CENTURY A.D.
Probably for a child, decorated with purple bands and panels with light plain cream stripes at the cuffs and down each side seam, the fragmentary hood with two roundels each containing a lion and rolled cord in the centre, the shoulder squares with stylized plants, each corner with a small bird, the clavi with stylized plant and animal motifs, the double sleeve bands with stylized plant forms, the front and back hem squares similarly decorated with small birds, with frame
