Contemporary purple straight-grained morocco, covers with elaborately gilt and blind roll-tooled border surrounding a large gilt coat-of-arms, spine elaborately gilt in five compartments, gilt morocco turn-ins and watered silk doublures and linings, the doublures gilt-stamped: "This book was used at his coronation by King William the 4th. and was afterwards graciously bestowed by his Majesty on Earl Amherst the Lord in Waiting on that solemn occasion" (a few marginal abrasions, light rubbing to spine ends and edges).
