A French gilt composition frame, 19th century
With guilloche course to the outer edge, concave recess, raised torus of imbricated leaves and berries tied at the centres and corners, scotia with continuously repeating motif of ivy leaves and bell flowers, fillet, ribbon-and-stave, the plate with incised Greek Key design, further mouldings running to the sight edge -- 17¾ x 14¼ x 7½in. (45 x 36.2 x 19cm.)
