Lot Essay

According to the vendor, whose mother worked at The Scotch House at the time of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's visit, the store was closed to the general public, and only members of staff were permitted to remain inside. John and Yoko were in Scotland to visit John's aunt in Durness, Sutherland. It was five days after their visit to The Scotch House that John and Yoko, travelling by car with Julian and Kyoko, had an accident in Golspie. All four were treated for minor injuries and shock.
