Lot Essay

Possibly the pendant to the previous lot. The sitter was the son of Reinier van Heemskerck and Anna van Vianen, see lot 55. He married Elisabeth Pruys van Oswaert in 1663. The artist portrayed the couple in 1671, for which see lot 49.
