Lot Essay

Joan Huydecoper, Heer van Maarsseveen, merchant, was the son of Jan Huydecoper and Maria Coymans. He married Sophia Coymans, daughter of Joan Coymans and Sophia Trip in 1655. He became burgomaster of Amsterdam in 1673 and was a board member of the Dutch East India Company in Amsterdam.
