Cf: H. Muthesius: 'WAS Benson's Electric Light Fittings', Dekorative Kunst, Vol. 3, December 1901, pp. 104-110 - this model illustrated
Benson's work was originally fostered by Morris & Co. and he became internationally recognised specifically for his designs for lighting fixtures. He sold work through Samuel Bing's famous shop in Paris and his work is widely illustrated in contemporary periodicals. This exact model is pictured in Dekorative Kunst and other mentions for his work are made in L'Art Décoratif and the Magazine for Art around the turn of the century.
