A GOANESE ROSEWOOD, PADOUK AND EBONY CHEST-ON-STAND
Early 19th Century
Inlaid overall with scrolling foliage and stylised lions inset with ivory eyes, the chest section with seven short teak-lined drawers around one deep drawer simulated as two, inlaid to the top and the sides, the stand with two short drawers above and undertier with two arched apertures flanked by mermaids to the front and back, one mermaid tail replaced, the stand altered and with a 19th Century undertier
