The moulded shaped and eared Kalmarden marble top above three long cross-banded drawers, the shaped sides inlaid with lozenge-shaped parquetry and on short splayed legs centred by an asymmetrical foliate apron mount and terminating in pierced and scrolled upswept sabots, restorations to the back legs, remounted

Lot Essay

This commode can be related to the work of the Swedish furniture maker Peter Gyllenberg (1767). A comparable bombé commode by Gyllenberg, is illustrated in M. Lagerquist, Rokokomöbler, Stockholm, 1949, p. 15, fig. 35 and a further related commode was sold anonymously at Bruun Rasmussen, Copenhagen, 24-25 February 1994, lot 648.
