a clear, frosted and gilt-enamelled scent bottle and stopper, of circular form with rectangular base, moulded in relief to front and reverse with four maidens in diaphanous costume, the stopper shaped as the wings of a moth, incised R.Lalique in the gilt enamel -- 11cm. high

Lot Essay
The form of this model is reminiscent of a Chinese model of the eighteenth century, and further back, to a bronze prototype of the sixth century.
