A PAIR OF FIR 'TIPI' OPEN ARMCHAIRS

Each with an arched crest carved in light relief with a tipi over a stylized checkerboard panel, and an inset padded back, with upholstered arms, a loose cushion seat and a similarly decorated seat rail, on circular hewn legs with a similarly hewn H-stretcher, upholstered in blue and white fringed and brass tacked leather--43½in. One of the six Sumers chairs of this design was exhibited in the 1989 'Interior West' exhibition at the Gene Autry Museum, Los Angeles.
