The drums with reptilian skin membranes, one from the Papuan Gulf with carved masks to the base within bands of scrolling ornament, painted orange, black and white; another from Milne Bay, of faceted hourglass form, the last of hourglass form with carved scrolling ornament painted black and red; a Massim dance paddle with flat rounded panels of scrolling ornament flanking the central grip; and two bark panels with painted motifs in bright pigments
