Lot Essay

This clock belonged to the Hart Family who through various generations worked as silversmiths, not least for the Guild of Handicraft. The clock is pictured in contemporary pictures of the family home.

The various aspects of the clock can all be attributed to individual craftsmen. The case was made by Glynn Pyman, the carver was Alex Mills, and the face was enamelled by Bill Mark.
