Two small carte-de-visite albums containing forty-six photographs in pre-cut mounts, the majority with printed credits of Abdullah Frères, Pera, Constantinople and titled in pencil on reverse of mounts, one album bound in olive green morocco, gilt clasp, 6 x 4½ in., the other lacking covers, 5¾ x 9¾ in. Including portraits of the Turkish Sultan Abdul Aziz (1830-76), his eldest son Prince Izeddin, his nephew, Prince Murad (1840-1904), Aali Pasha (1815-71) Turkish diplomat, Ismail Pasha (1830-95) ruler of Egypt, Fuad Pasha (1814-69) Foreign Minister of Egypt, street-traders, a Kurdish Chief, Circassians, an Armenian man and woman, a Greek man in national dress, a Greek priest and other male and female "types".
