Provenance
Paul Strand moved from the USA to France in 1949 before the McCarthy trials. This photograph is inscribed to Strand's friends D.N. Pritt Q.C and his wife. Pritt was a Labour M.P. before the war and was disowned by the Labour Party during the war because of his extreme left wing activities.
