Lot Essay

Alexandra Feodorovna (1798-1860), Princess Charlotte of Prussia, daughter of King Frederick William III of Prussia and his wife Luise, was married in 1817 to Grand Duke Nicholas Pavlovich, the future Emperor Nicholas I. For a miniature of her son, the future Tsar Alexander II, see lot 291.
