A REGENCY ORMOLU-MOUNTED PENWORK TEA-CADDY
Decorated overall with classical scenes of ruin landscapes and Arcadian views, the raised rectangular hinged lid with central landscape view above a fruiting oak leaf and a guilloche-band, enclosing to the reverse a conforming view and a central cut-glass bowl flanked to either side by hinged zinc-lined compartments, the front with a scene of a Chinese collation, the sides with lion-mask handles and on lion-paw feet

A related Regency tea-caddy with similar penwork decoration and Chinoiserie scenes was sold anonymously, Sotheby's New York, 12 April 1996, lot 289, and a Regency penwork table cabinet was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 6 June 1996, lot 64.
