RUBY ENAMEL QIANLONG SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD

Delicately decorated with three cartouches of lady Immortals standing among turbulent waves, reserved on a pink and apple-green cell-pattern ground and divided by stylised flower-heads, the shoulder and the flaring foot with bands of key-pattern and ascending and descending geometric motifs, the tall neck with similar cell-pattern decoration rising to a further band of key-pattern

Lot Essay

Compare the fine shading of the figures with examples found on a champleve cup and stand, included in the Special Exhibition in Kaoshiung City Loaned by the National Palace Museum, Great National Treasures of China, illustrated in the Catalogue, fig. 60. Also compare to related examples with European ladies such as the lobed vase in the present sale, lot 514.
