The realistically-carved kestrel with outstreched wings and holding in its claw a dead bird with a lizard on a tree stump, on an associated carved bracket, with flowers and foliage hung below, the bracket with paper label to the reverse inscribed '68' and the top inscribed '...bird../Bracket' and inscribed in pencil to the reverse 'Overfire place/...' and with further pencil inscription
12½ in. (32 cm.) wide; 27¼ in. (69 cm.) high, overall; 10 in. (25.5 cm.) deep
