Details
A Victorian gilt-lined table snuff box
of shaped rectangular form, the base engraved with flowers, scrollwork and strapwork, the sides engine-turned, the cover with applied floral and scrollwork border in high relief enclosing an engraved poem:
"Knows he who never took a pinch,
Nosey the pleasure thence which flows,
Knows he the titillating joy that my nose knows?
Oh nose! I am as proud of thee
As any mountain of its snows.
I gaze on thee and feel that pride
A Roman knows.
