Of typical form with spindle-turned uprights, the central pierced wheel etched with stylised foliate motifs within an inscribed border, above a spreading frieze decorated with foliate sprays and incorporating a drawer with simulated nashiji-lining, on a spreading plinth, the japanned decoration of the top of the base on a veneered parquetry ground and possibly updating an earlier decoration
