Stamped L· CRESSON, Circa 1730
With scalloped scroll-carved crestrail above a square cartouche-form caned back and seat with later loose brown leather-covered squab-cushion above a rocaille-carved seatrail centered by a blossom, on similarly-carved cabriole legs and toupie feet, with a paper label with stencilled number 477 and another indistinctly inscribed paper label

Louis I Cresson, maître in 1738.
