Dated 1887, crowned globe mark to some, retailer's mark for M. Hicks & Co., Bath, pattern no. W1948
The center boldly painted with a coat-of-arms surmounted by a banner inscribed 'PRO LIBE RANDO RAGE' and suspending the motto 'PLUS QU'UN LION', the border gilt with a monogram and moulded with a spiralling ribbon edged with white 'jewels', comprising: eleven armorial plates, a plate and an armorial platter
