A rare 4½-inch (11.5cm.) diameter miniature terrestrial table globe made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial and prime meridian graduated in degrees, the latter running through Iceland, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the continents shaded and outlined in yellow, green, red and pink with text in German, showing rivers, mountains and some cities, the Antarctic with small sections of partial coastline, Australia labelled NEU HOLLAND, South Africa labelled Capland and Kaffern, with printed hour dial at the North Pole (extensive neat repairs and some redrawing, with some fading or loss of detail), with stamped brass meridian circle (replacement) in an unstained mahogany stand, the octagonal horizon with hand-coloured engraved paper ring graduated in degrees, with days of the houses of the Zodiac with names in German and sigils, days of the month with names in German and compass directions (some discolouration) on four slightly tapered square-section legs united by cross stretchers with meridian support -- 6¾in. (17.2cm.) high
