A 3-inch (7.6cm.) diameter wooden box, with ebonised interior, the exterior covered with hand-coloured engraved paper, the lid showing a projection of the world from 15°W of the Greenwich meridian, to 160°E, the equatorial irregularly graduated in degrees and hours, Europe, Africa and NEW HOLLAND coloured green, Asia coloured yellow, Australia joined to Tasmania, surrounded by graduations in degrees in four quadrants, the edge of the lid with graduations in twice 12 hours, the base with a projection from 80°W to 200°W, with similar graduations, the Americas in pink, the Polynesian islands in yellow, the Australasian islands in green, the edge of the base graduated and listing several place names with compass directions and numerals (some rubbing) -- 1.3/8in. (3.5cm.) high
