A 13-inch (33cm.) diameter terrestrial table globe made up of twelve chromolithographed paper gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial graduated in degrees and also numbered 1-36, the meridian of Greenwich graduated in degrees, the ecliptic ungraduated, the oceans showing warm and cold ocean currents, submarine cable lines, steamship routes with ports of arrival and departure and journey time in days and shaded according to the volume of traffic along the route, the Antarctic with various notes relating to exploratory expeditions with dates, including Neu-Schwaben Ld Beansprucht vom Deutschen Reich Ritschers Exp. 1938/39 , the continents with nation states shaded according to national possession, with towns, cities, railway and telegraph lines, caravan routes, rivers, mountains and the Great Wall of China, also showing areas of production for wool, cotton, coal, aluminium, diamonds, rice, corn, gold, silver, platinum, zinc and numerous other commodities (areas of discolouration), with stamped brass meridian half-circle, raised atop the bronze figure of an eagle with outstretched wings on a stylised rocky base, fixed to a stepped circular marble plinth base -- 32in. (81.2cm.) high
