A 13¾-inch (35cm.) diameter terrestrial table globe, made up of twelve chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes, the equatorial graduated in degrees in both directions, the prime meridian runing through Iceland and graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the oceans showing ocean currents and steamship routes, the Antarctic with mostly projected coastline, the continents with some nation states hand-coloured in outline in brown or dark green and showing rivers, mountains, towns and cities (some darkening to surface with some small abrasions), with stamped brass meridian half-circle divided in two quadrants, raised on a highly decorative cast bronze stand comprising tapering baluster turned pillar to circular plinth base, with foliate and floral decoration -- 23½in. (59.7cm.) high
