TWO SHAKUDO TSUBA, ONE KAGA SCHOOL AND THE OTHER UMETADA
Edo period (17th century)
A shakudo tanto tsuba, Kaga school, carved in the form of a blossom and inlaid with insects and a mon with three butterflies, 6.15cm.; and an almost circular shakudo tsuba carved on the face with an antique Chinese ink-stick decorated with a dragon and a stylised snowflake form inlaid with a dragon, the reverse with a snowflake with a dragon, 7.25cm.
