AN ANTIQUE EMERALD AND DIAMOND NECKLACE
Designed as a graduated series of ten old mine-cut and pear-shaped diamond openwork scrolled panels, each with a central bezel-set rectangular-cut emerald and collet emerald detail, to the diamond-set foliate motif spacers, four diamonds deficient, circa 1880, 44.0 cm. (emeralds are of later addition)
With certificate 35326 dated 24/3/2000 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that three of the emeralds weigh approximately 4.50, 4.90 and 7.50 carats, are of Colombian origin and the clarity is enhanced by oil. Extent of enhancement: moderate
