A Meissen rectangular tea-caddy
Circa 1735, blue crossed swords mark and gilder's 5.
Painted in purpurmalerei with figures in wooded landscapes and beside a river within elaborate Böttger lustre, gilt scroll and diaper cartouches, the short sides similarly painted with figures in wooded river landscapes beneath a border of scrolling foliage, the top with two trailing flowers, between gilt angles and rims (some very slight rubbing to gilding)
