A Meissen chinoiserie coffee-cup and saucer
Circa 1738, blue crossed swords marks, Pressnummer 6 to cup and 2 to saucer
Painted with Oriental figures at various pursuits and taking tea among palm trees, flowering plants, vases and furniture, the lower part of the cup and the underside of the saucer moulded with radiating stiff leaves within gilt scroll and flowerhead borders, the cup with moulded double-scroll handle (restored rim chip to cup, glazed scratches to saucer)
