A VICTORIAN SILVER SALVER of shaped circular outline and on four scroll feet, the ground engraved with stylised foliage and strapwork, inscribed: "Presented to Roger Kynaston Esq, by a few of his friends and Fellow Cricketers as a testimony of their friendship and of their sense of his services to the cause of cricket during the sixteen years of which he was The Honorary Secretary of the Marylebone Cricket Club. July 1858" (inscription slightly rubbed), 470mm., in diameter.

Roger Kynaston (1805-1874) played for his school, Eton, M.C.C. and Middlesex, he was Secretary of M.C.C. from 1842 to 1858 and Treasurer until 1866.
