A large Imari bowl
painted and gilt with panels of frolicking horses and boys with tethered buffalo amongst scattered roundels of stylised mythical beasts on grounds of scrolling flowers and foliage and geometric designs, the centre decorated with a roundel of the Three Friends, the exterior in underglaze blue with scrolling foliage -- 15in. (38cms) diam, 19th century, (some gilt rubbing).
