Of rectangular shape with an arched top and stepped pediment with egg-and-dart moulding above a pierced panel and triglyphs, flanked to each side by a foliate finial above a damask silk panel, on slender legs with hoof and acanthus sabots, stamped to the underside E. ZWIENER

Lot Essay

Emanuel Zwiener is recorded as working in Paris between 1880 and 1895 at 12 rue de la Roquette. He was of German origin and produced pieces of the very finest quality.
