Lot Essay

The present group of a nymph and putti exemplifies perfectly Mathurin Moreau's artistry as a sculptor. The work bears the stamp of Albert Lapointe of 100, rue de Amelot, Paris, who cast many of Moreau's larger models in bronze during the latter years of the sculptors career.
