An interesting double-opening white ground enamel playing-card snuff-box
circa 1760, probably South Staffordshire
Of narrow upright form, the long sides painted in sepia with elaborate score sheets entitled 'Tours Simples' and 'Tours Doubles', the narrow ends and inner and outer covers painted in colours with scattered playing cards, one end with shallow interior, the other with deep interior, the waved gilt-metal mounts with waved thumbpieces
