A French engraved gilt-brass and porcelain-mounted striking carriage clock, last quarter 19th century
The corniche case engraved with leafy sprays, mounted to the sides with porcelain panels depicting a day-dreaming servant girl and a swain playing the bagpipes respectively, the dial decorated with a scene of a lake and butterflies, with off white Roman chapter ring, blued steel spade hands, the twin barrel movement with replaced platform escapement, strike on gong to the backplate stamped for Richard & Co. and numbered 830 -- 5½in. (14cm.) high
