A Dutch Delft orangist dish
Circa 1788
Decorated in colours with a propaganda pamphlet in favour of Prince Willem V of Orange inscribed; De Vorst is nu weer hersteld in zijn eer (The sovereign has been re-established again in his honour) underneath a neoclassical urn filled with an orange tree and flanked by the initials VVOR (Vivat Oranje) within a yellow ring, the border with meandering orange branches
23cm. (9 in.) diam.
