A large Dutch Delft blue and white chinoiserie set of vases
Late 17th Century, probably De Grieksche A manufactory
Inspired from Chinese Kang'Hsi examples, the body decorated with various alternating flowerfilled vases and tables laid with miniature trees (mobilier chinois) within arched panels, upon a band enclosing flattened floral cartouches, the dark blue-ground shoulders with circular medallions enclosing flowerbranches, the base with crab-shaped motifs, comprising:
- a pair of mallet-shaped vases with long elongated necks decorated with elaborate fleurs hollandaises, 59cm. (23 1/4 in.) high
- a baluster "fireplace pot" vase and cover, decorated en suite, the domed cover with huge ball finial, 57 cm. (22 3/8 in.) high
