The back rest pierced and cast with four oval medallions modelled with sprays of stylised flowers, intersected by oval paterae motifs, with conforming side panels, with wood slatted seat, stamped COALBROOKDALE, NO 397749, (worn), and with diamond design patent registration stamp (worn), for 5th May, 1883.

Lot Essay

This design, number 397749, was patented and registered by the Coalbrookdale Iron Foundry at The Public Record Office on 5th May 1883 and still featured in the Coalbrookdale Illustrated Catalogue of Garden and Park Furniture, 1907.
