The back and side panels pierced with trailing flowerheads and foliage above the wooden slatted seat, stamped NO.195629, NO.44 and with diamond design patent registration stamp for 1st March 1866

Lot Essay

This seat is number 44 in the 1875 Coalbrookdale Castings Catalogue, section III, page 253. The design, number 195629 was registered and patented by the Coalbrookdale Foundry at the Public Records Office on the 1st of March, 1866.
