A Chinese gilt-bronze and cloisonne tripod censer
in three sections, decorated overall in coloured enamels with lotus flowers and scrolling foliage, bands of ruyi-heads, and butterflies amongst blossoming branches, the domed cover with spherical finial pierced with scrolling lotus above cylindrical mid-section with pierced rectangular panels of bats amongst cloud scrolls, the base with wide flat rim above elephant mask feet -- 20½in. (52cm.) high, 18th Century, (small areas of enamel loss, surface pitting, minor dents, old wear.)
