A George III mahogany quarter chiming longcase clock

The case with raised rectangular panels to the double-footed plinth, break-arch trunk door flanked by brass-capped and reeded fluted quarter-columns, the hood with similar detatched columns supporting the moulded cornice surmounted by a pagoda top inset with a foliate cast-gilt metal sound fret, (lacking finials), the silvered Roman and Arabic dial signed Henry Bagnall, London with well pierced blued steel hands and subsidiary seconds ring and calendar aperture, the chime/silent lever by chapter III, crown-and-cherub spandrels, dolphin spandrels in the arch flanking the strike/silent ring, the massive five pillar three train rack-striking movement with anchor escapement, the partially altered chiming train striking on eight bells via eight hammers with hour strike on a later gong
